On Wednesday (20), the House of Italian Members is ready to discuss a bill that can significantly change how Italian citizenship is granted to descendants of Italians born outside the country. The decree, which was published in March, still needs the adoption of legislation to enter into force definitively. The House of Italian Members voted on this Wednesday (20) on the draft law which may change the rules for obtaining Italian citizenship. The plenary shall meet at 11 o'clock at the local time (6h in Brazil), for the general discussion and vote on the text of the Decree of 28 March 2025 adopted by the Senate on Friday (15).The Italian Government shall have until 27 May to complete the legislative process.
